Itinerary description
The day started in a lovely guest house in the Congolese country side and ended after some river crossings in Bandundu. The road was in rather good condition. Most of the time it consisted of two tracks from the local Land Cruisers. Easily doable in cars, much fun on an off-road bike.
I encountered some corruption related problems, as is to be expected. On the last ferry crossing I got hold back by the DGM agent and almost missed the last ferry. I boarded the boat rather angrily and too fast. When I hit the ramp I almost slammed into the handle bar twisting the throttle open, doing a whoolie up the ramp, jumping onto the ferry, braking frantically as to not fall off the other side of the ferry. I came to a halt approximately 2m from the other end of the barge.
I slept at the shittier hotel I found in Bandundu for $20, I definitely advise everyone to go to the other option on this route for $25.
