Itinerary description
I took the bus from Urubamba to Chinchero. Wondered around this nice town and the Inca ruins, then decided to walk back. Turned out to be a great idea as the walk is really nice.
All you need to do is head towards the end of the ruins where the walk begin. It's all very simple, first through the forest then through the gorge (which reminds me - don't undertake this walk if you suffer from vertigo!) and finally through the valley. I got a little lost here following the water canal, you can simply continue through the valley, then connect with the dirt road going above the valley to the left.
You can finish the walk through the village, though I preferred continuing waking on the dirt road as it offered nice views. The walk ends on the highway where you could catch a bus or a collectivo to Urubamba or Pisac.
Bring snacks, water and good walking shoes. This is a much nicer way to go back then catching the bus, highly recommended walk!
