Itinerary description
Track is all offroad and 85 % easy (2WD). Half way is a decent where you need high ground clearance and 4WD. The track ends at the lake. A local ranger said we where not allowed to come there, but when we explained we never saw any forbidden signs and we where coming from the other side of the hill it was ok. Promised to leave after coffee.

Hi folks, i live in the town near by. I could also not imagine that it’s legal to drive that route with a motor vehicle. Watch for signs. If you take the risk anyway, this area is very beautiful. Anyway, taking a swim in the lake is highly illegal, its the source of drinking water for all the area ;) greetings Jochen

Do you know where there are legal offroads in Swarzwald?
Unfortunately, i could not find suitable places yet. This is really annoying about Germany. Lots of nice places, but absolutely no motor vehicle policy. this is why we usually go austria, switzerland or slovenia.
And definitely stay out of areas / forests with your car, seeing the white square sign with green border. Very very expensive, about 1000€.

in switzerland i see a lot of tracks. Unfortunately, there are no tracks in Austria.

Hi Jochen, like I wrote the ranger said we were not allowed to stay at the lake. Like you wrote because of the drinking water. I am pretty sure there were no signs anywhere on the route that did not allow us to enter.
Signs are not needed. Forest roads are illegal to drive by law. No matter if there is a sign or not...

Ganz Allgemein ist es in Deutschland untersagt, in den Wäldern usw. herumzufahren, egal ob ein Schild steht oder nicht. Natürlich kann man es riskieren und es geht auch oft gut, aber wenn man erwischt wird, kostet es eben richtig Geld.
Natürlich kann man auch das Argument bringen, es stand kein Verbotsschild und sich unschuldig und einsichtig zeigen, bereuen, man hätte es nicht besser gewusst. Eine Entschuldigung ist dann ein gute Idee. In der Regel - also recht oft kommt man dann mit einer kostenfreien Verwarnung davon.
Einseits ist es verboten, andererseits kann man - wie oben beschrieben - auch darauf hoffen - wenn man überhaupt erwischt wird !!! - nur auf eine Verwarnung zu erhalten.

Wer Lust hat, wir gehen oft nach Frankreich in die Vogesen - wer möchte, kann gerne mitkommen. Infos gibt es natürlich bei mir !!!

Hey Basti,
leider finde ich nirgends eine Funktion für eine PN.
Ich komme aus Freiburg und habe mir über den Winter einen Suzuki Grand Vitara ein wenig aufgebaut (AT-Bereifung, Höherlegung, etc.). Sind auch mit Dachzelt viel unterwegs.
Vor 3 Monaten war ich auch ein wenig in den Vogesen unterwegs, allerdings noch ohne Höherlegung und kenne mich auch nicht aus, wo es ordentliche Strecken gibt um ins Gelände zu kommen.
Auf dein Angebot würde ich super gerne eingehen, vielleicht mal eine gemeinsame Tour zu machen.
