Itinerary description
Go and check the official website www.altaviadelsale.com for purchasing a ticket for this toll road. Access is limited to a certain amount of vehicles per day, so it makes sense to purchase a ticket upfront and not at the entrance gate!
The views on this road are simply incredible! Even though it is now a very well maintained gravel road, which can be taken by almost any vehicle with average ground clearance, I would consider it not being "easy" as it could be difficult to maneuver once you are facing oncoming traffic. It should be a one way road. However, when driving, I had the impression that 95% of cars are going north to south. So maybe it would be smart to do so as well... ;)
I decided to split my trip into multiple sections. This is part 1, the toll road. It is well maintained and therefore easy to drive, also with normal SUVs. Check out part 2 as well. No toll there, much less traffic but hurting or breaking a regular car. High clearance is definetly suggested here... ;)
