Finally in the Etosha National Park
Many good things we had heard about this park and it did not disappoint us, in the main camp of the West: Okaukuejo all were facilities, but not before having some tense moment as it seemed that there was no place and the other closest to the park was at about 2 hours on the road adding the impossibility of following the road at night. The alternative was to go back and find accommodation before entering it in one of their Lodges in the periphery at prohibitive prices. Luckily at the end we had a friendly receptionist, because the one that charged the entrance to the campsite !! As he spent it, it seemed that he had swallowed a saber !!, did not even work the smile and the "How are you?" that almost always opens the doors for us.
The night in Etosha was exciting, inside the camp we had the best "waterhole" of the park lit by giant bulbs. I remember that the first vision was of two rhinoceroses and as many giraffes drinking, but when we returned after dinner a whole herd of elephants came, we could count more than 30 that practically filled the pond. We were all waiting for the arrival of the lion, which unfortunately did not happen. It seems that Miki had more luck the next day at dawn and saw some in the distance, illusion caused by his gastrointestinal problems or reality? We will never know, but the night was simply magnificent.
