To the Coast of Skeletons:
We left about 9:30 in the morning of the Sesriem canyon with the objective of "swallowing" kms of track and arrive as soon as possible to the coast. The tracks were very fast and with some Tôle ondulée, taking a pace of about 80/90 kms per hour it took us about 4 and a half hours to travel the 320 kms that separate both points. And finally, at the Walvis Lagoon Lodge! Elisa's lost suitcase! ... we celebrated it and the question came to our mind: what if we advance some kilometers and arrive at Swapkomund? said and done, the second city of Namibia was waiting for us, summer place with German type houses that made us transport to Central Europe but with the landscape and climate of South Africa, curious, no?
After the necessary refueling (almost always $ 1000 Namibios, about 65 Euros for 100 liters of diesel approximately) and of the purchases in the SuperSpar of Swapkomund it was necessary to look for a camping. The truth is that the search of the campsites was not a big problem because during the whole trip we had stored in the Garmin GPS and in the Oruxmaps all the campsites near the route, therefore it was a matter of putting the "waypoint" and that's it, Once there we decided if it was worth staying. That day we had the "Mile4 Caravan Park", a magnificent enclosure next to the sea with slight slope where we put where we wanted, the price 640 $ Namibians for the 4 cars (about 40 Euros), a chollete.
