Itinerary description
Disclaimer: this route is mainly on paved roads, but plenty of offroad routes shold be possible in case the weather conditions are ok.
After travelling form Germany to Austria, the idea was to somehow get to Slovenia with some offroad fun on the way. So we head off from a small campground near Villach, Austria. From Villach over the Wurzenpass towards Kranjska Gora from where we took the Vrsic pass to get into a bit remote area of Slovenia. The pass turned out to be quite breathtaking with about 50 serpentines, still paved, but nevertheless quite some fun to drive. To get to the planned destination of the day, we followed some small roads along the Slovanian/Italian border (1km unpaved but doable with almost any car). Some tries to get a bit more offroad failed due to very muddy conditions after several days of heavy rain. In case of better conditions, there should be plenty of offroad tracks. We ended up at a nice little campgroung close to the national park Škocjanske jame.
