Itinerary description
Awesome, probably as outstanding as Landmannalaugar, Iceland which was our most striking place on earth so far. High altitude, amazing panoramas, awesome but mostly easy, offroad desertic tracks (no sand unless you want to).
The only "technical" difficulty would be to follow the track and overall direction when they are widely scattered (hint: just keep right, else you go to Bolivia).
It could probably be done with a 2WD, except for driving on top of the mountain from where we did (the other way may be possible). We still recommend a 4WD because of the rough surface, margin of security, and because you will be able wander around to get even more outstandind views.
Excuse the weird trajectory, we stopped many times to take pictures. When you go straight, is is much faster of course!
