Itinerary description
99% of it is pretty easy.
The first part follows the coastline and is not difficult, but quite dusty in summertime.
The second part, after Barcelona, is targeted towards the Pyrenees mountains and gets increasingly more difficult, but never hard. Only at the very end is hard part which needs real experience and an appropriate car. I'd even say it is more for experts, so be careful.
But there's ways around it.
Some parts are blocked in summer, because of risk of fire in the summer heat. Mainly thick forests. Be prepared and have some navigation with you to go around those parts. There's plenty of ways around those sections.
You will mainly notice there's hardly been any tourism after you pass Barcelona.

J’ai effectué seul cette partie de la trace sur 3 jours en mars 2020. Le véhicule était un Ford Ranger 3.2L avec une cellule posée dessus. Aucune réelle difficulté mais certains passages étaient quand même assez taqués. Réducteur obligatoire
Piste fermée par la Casa Rural pour aller à Cadaquès. Pas noté d’autres interdictions visibles ( ou alors, j’ai pas bien regardé ! ;) ) à noter qu’il a quand même fallu parfois faire ½ tour pour retomber sur nos pattes.
J’évaluerais, à vue de nez, pour la partie que j’ai faite, un taux de 20% de routes et au moins 80% de pistes
Bivouacs sans problème !
Au total de très beaux paysages, ou que l’on soit sur l’itinéraire.
Un grand merci à Zone 30 pour ce parcours. Bravo à lui !
