Itinerary description

Moderately difficult trail with some rocky areas. Fairly easy to the first parking area after which the trail becomes rocky and narrower. Passing an on-coming vehicle can be a challenge in parts. Beyond the first parking area a 4x4 is necessary. We parked at the third parking area. Beyond here the trail becomes a very narrow shelf road up to the lakes and the base of the Three Needles. We hiked the rest of the way to mine ruins and the lake. The views are spectacular.
