Itinerary description
Nice little drive from the village of Paderne to the castle, then across the river on a back road back to the main road (N125).
You can do this as 2 parts ... from the Castle to the paved road is fairly easy, with some washed out areas, not really 4WD, but ground clearance could be an issue.
From the paved road to the N125 is a little less traveled, narrow and has you crossing the river, which was dry when we went through. Could be done with a 2WD, but would recommend a 4WD :)

Not sure when the castle is open ... but there are some nice walking trails all around it

Roman bridge
There is a roman bridge just down from the castle ... you can either walk to it (several trails), or drive almost up to it.
