SANTA CLARA-A-VELHA
Uma daquelas típicas aldeias, pintadas de azul e branco, perdidas no interior de Portugal. Entre serras e planícies, repleto de fantásticas paisagens, Santa Clara convida-o a caminhar pelos seus trilhos à descoberta do seu património natural e cultural. No seu centro encontrará a Igreja de Santa Clara de Assis que foi contruída na primeira metade do séc. XVI, e ao seu redor o pouco comércio existente. Aqui recomenda-mos que faça uma paragem numa das tascas para experimentar a nossa típica aguardente de medronho acompanhado por queijo e presunto da região. Seguindo caminho para a sua maior atração, a barragem, encontrará o que resta da Ponte Dª Maria, conhecida por Ponte Romana. Já na barragem pode usufruir das suas águas com atividades como passeios de barco, stand up paddle ou pesca desportiva (disponível através de marcação no hotel). Encontrará também diversos lugares maravilhosos para fazer piquenique´s rodeado de natureza. Uma visita que já valerá a pena, só pela sua beleza e pelo silêncio rural que a acompanha.

Sítios de interesse:
-Igreja de Santa Clara de Assis (A sua contrução data da primeira metade do séc. XVI, o altar lateral e os altares de talha dourada e policromada foram colocados nos séculos seguintes);
-Ponte Dª Maria (Construida no séc.XVIII, esta ponte é conhecida como a Ponte Romana por se situar perto de uma via romana que ligaria Beja ao Algarve. Foi no séc. XX que ocorreu uma derrocada parcial da mesma);
-Barragem de Santa Clara (Com 1986 hectáres, esta barragem é uma das maiores da Europa e têm grande importância para toda a região envolvente. Alimentada pelo Rio Mira e pelas chuvas que toda a população reza para ocorrerem, a água desta barragem percorre 84,9 km de canais, 50,4 km de distribuidores e 309,6 km de regadeiras.

SANTA CLARA-A-VELHA
One of those authentic villages, painted in blue and white, lost in time in the countryside of Portugal. Surrounded by hills and plains, among amazing landscapes, Santa Clara invites you to discover the natural and cultural heritage. At the center of this village you will find a church (Igreja de Santa Clara de Assis) that was built at the XVI century, and around it, the little existing trades. Here we recommend you to stop at a "Tasca" ( typical small coffee shops) to try our famous Arbutus Spirit (Aguardente de Medronho) accompanied by cheese and smoked ham from the region. Following the trail to the most important attraction of the area, the dam, you will have the chance to see what remains of the Ponte Dª Maria, known as the Roman Bridge. At the dam you may enjoy the amazing views and explore the 1986 hectares of water surface through boat trips, stand up paddle and fishing baptism (available to book at the hotel). You will find wonderful places to make picnic´s surrounded by nature. Only the beauty of this place and the rural silence that you find here, it´s worth a visit.

-Igreja de Santa Clara de Assis (Built at the XVI century, the side altar and the golden carved details where added the following century's);
-Ponte Dª Maria (Built at the XVIII century, this bridge is locally known as the Roman Bridge because it is situated near a Roman path that connected Beja to the Algarve. It was at the XX century that the bridge partially collapsed);
-Barragem de Santa Clara (With 1986 hectares, this is one of the biggest dam in Europe and it has a great importance for the whole region. The water comes from the Mira River and the rain, for which the whole population prays for, and it flows through 84,9 km of channels, 50,4 km of distributors and 309,6 km of watering cans).
