From Jal, to reach the valley of the Rajkot side of the NP, we have to descend with the off-road vehicle to Diamroi and then up to the Indus river valley. In Bonardas there is the storage of tents and material from Nanga Parbat Adventure.com. In the Fairy Meadows valley there are several lodges, very frequented by Pakistani tourists, so we will leave tents, kitchen and all the material that was used in the trekking here.
We follow the Karakorum Highway for 25 km to the Rajkot Bridge, from where the small jeeps depart on the 14 km (2 hours !!) of a very bad trail dizzily carved on the side of the valley. You get to the restaurant, where the track ends and you will continue on foot (Nanga Parbat trekking 5).
This track, three days later, on our return, will be interrupted (completely collapsed) in many places. In some of the intermediate stretches between the landslides, some jeeps have been blocked that carry out a shuttle service. With four transhipments and long stretches on foot with luggage on the shoulder we will eventually get off at Rajikot Bridge and from here, Chilas.
