Monument Valley is one of those landscapes that will not leave you indifferent, being caused by the erosion of millions of years and giving shape to the rocks in different ways, depending on the state of the erosion: mesa, butte and spire (first, second and third state of erosion, respectively). Monument Valley has been the setting for multiple Western movies, so it is nice to walk and get lost among such places.
We took the route in our own vehicle, guided by a map provided in the visitor center and passing through all the scenes of Monument Valley.
1. East and West Mitten Buttes
2. Elephant Butte
3. The Three Sisters
4. John Ford's Point
5. Camel Butte
6. The Hub
7. Sand Springs
8. Totem Pole
9. Artist's Point
10. North Window
11. The Thumb
Special attention to the main viewpoints of Monument Valley: John Ford's Point, Artist's Point and North Window, places where we took beautiful panoramic photos.
Fantastic place to witness a different environment, with reddish tones and incredible shapes in the rocks, caused by the erosion of millions of years.
