Arrival Day... Wednesday, 30/08/2023
Meet up at Lawas town and pick up by 4WD to Ba'kelalan.
It took 6-7 hrs to reach Ba'kelalan. Total distance about 144KM+-.
From Lawas to Ba'kelalan must be transferred by 4WD. Can't make it by normal sedan car.
For land transport, only can reach by 4WD. By air limited flight available per week. Operate by Maswing.
Will stay here for 1 night and start our hiking trip the next day. Ba'kelalan airport just opposite our home stay Apple Lodge.
Ba'kelalan is a small town in Lawas district occupied by Lunbawang ethnic. In their local dialect Ba' means paddy field, while kelalan means river.
