We followed a different Wikiloc track on this trip but honestly we probably could not have done it without hiring a guide. We hired Martin Reha a Swiss mountain guide wh has lived in San Pedro de Atacama for 30 years. He knows the off-road drive like the back of his hand, and took us to beautiful lookouts and showed us shortcuts between he best areas. He also knew about the wildlife, the geological and cultural history of the area. Track him down if you plan to go.
