Itinerary description
Adventure Extreme group organised this offroading in Khasab area of Musandam Peninsula of Oman that borders to Ras al Khaimah.
We visited Khasab city and the other local sight seeing areas including Dhow Cruise where were greeted by the Dolphins.
We started from the end section of Khasab town and we took the exit to Jebel Sayh and soon we were on graded road.
The road is safe enough and of good surface quality.
Once you reach the Sayh village, you drive further towards Jebel Harim.
You pass by Omani airforce base.
The road will then start to gradually descend towards Wadi Bih, passing many villages scattered around.
Once you reach the plains of wadi Bih, you have options to explore different areas here.
We drove towards Rawdah village, from there we drove upwards on a good quality offroad to Limah village by an impressively laid road.
In Limah town, there is NO fuel station.
Only 1 Cafetaria and a Grocery store.
The views at the mountains and valleys are impressive.
We came back the same way back to Khasab town.
Care to be taken as there are not many vehicles plying on these roads, only villagers driving around rarely. No phone network in most places.
For the route we drove, You need
A proper 4X4 vehicle with Low gear system.
Good brakes and tires with spare tire tested.
Full tank of Petrol as the ups/ downs with 4X4 engaged can consume lot of fuel.
There are no petrol, stations anywhere on this route.
The last fuel station is in Khasab town, opposite to Khasab police station.
Food and water in stock for any uncertainties.
Best to go as a group of cars and not to drive alone as safety factor.
Enjoy Offroading !!!
