Itinerary description

The plan was to explore Kotla Valley and attempt to reach summit of Makra Peak from Kashmir side.

Makra peak has several ridges which offer many routes to climb is hence giving it the famous Makra name.
Cars can go upto Dhora which is just next to Battal Village.
From Muzaffarabad you drive straight on the Neelum Valley road. Till you reach Khori Bridge. From there you enter the Kotla Valley.
And drive towards Battal.
There are numerous sub roads, we were guides on our way up by a Suzuki driver hence we did not go off the track.

From Battal or Dhora you can get a jeep.
Jeep goes to Danna, which is mostly carpeted road.
From Danna, you can go to SarDanna but that is completely off-road jeep track.

From Sardanna it's hike to Makra which may take one or two days.
