Itinerary description
DESCRIPTION
Trail: gravel or dirt road, no need for a 4x4 4WD vehicle
Altitude: you will climb 1300 meters in one hour, reaching 4300 masl, be careful, when I get out of the car in the viewpoint I got so dizzy, heart beating crazy, shaking (I didn't drive)
Times: make sure to go on the afternoon for sunset, its the best time in the day.
Weather: avoid fully clouded days, you won't see many colors, just a bit cloudy can be ok if you have time to wait until the clouds pass and the mountain get some sun.
Tour: the best way if you want to get a tour is go to the parking lot across the bridge in Humahuaca (start/end point in this trail) there will be drivers saying Hornocal, Cerro de 14 Colores, most of them drive pick up truck (Toyota Hilux). Tour agencies will charge you 2 or 3 times more money than coming here. The tour last normally 3 hours (1 hour getting there, 1 hour there, 1 hour come back). You will visit the first mirador (viewpoint) you have time to go to the next one (hiking, walking) but not normal to include a visit to the second mirador south west of the first one.
Entrance fee: you have to pay few pesos at a check point.
