Itinerary description
We boarded on a journey from Dubai to Dibba Musandam to Wadi Biyahh Checkpoint. Our route took us all the way to the Wadi Biyah Omani check post before returning back to Dibba, totaling a round trip of 95 km.
Previously, I had a drive from Khasab to Wadi Biyahh to Lima, but due to expatriate and check post restrictions, I was unable to proceed towards Dibba. This time managed to complete the remaining section of the journey.
Although we had initially planned to visit Zaghi Beach, we were denied entry by the entrance security as we hadn't made a resort booking. Nevertheless, the initial tracks through the Wadi, flanked by towering mountains on both sides, offered great scenic views. We discovered numerous picturesque spots along the way, perfect for photography enthusiasts and ideal for camping.
The overall road quality of the off-road route was good, well maintained throughout. Both the Renault Koleos and Infinity QX60 vehicles handled the trip with ease along with other offroad cars.
For fellow expatriates, it's crucial to note that crossing the border check post requires a "Permission Letter," which can be obtained through a travel agent for a nominal fee (I paid AED 50 per person). It's essential to carry your original passport, Emirates ID, and the permission letter when crossing the border. Once inside the check post, the only option for exit is through the same check post; there are no alternative exits available.
Similarly, if entering from another border check post, exiting from the Dibba check post is not permitted. Overall, the journey was a memorable experience.
