Itinerary description
Easy trail climbing quickly to California Pass from which there are extensive views of Lake Como and California Gulch. From the pass the trail gently descends along California Gulch and the West Fork Animas River for 3.5 miles to the impressive ruins of the Frisco Mill at Bagley Tunnel. The abandoned town of Animas Forks lies 0.7 miles further. Find a place to park in Animas Forks and explore the extensive ruins.
