Itinerary description
A beautiful sand dune / cliff top adventure from Bordeira beach to Arrifana. The route was very soft sand in some sections but we managed without needing to deflate our tires. Not suitable for vehicles over 2m wide.
The forest at the very beginning of the route has low hanging trees. Our vehicle is 3,10m high and we just managed to find a route through. TAKE CARE IF YOUR VEHICLE IS HIGH.
The beach camp is 2,6km into the route. Here the is a spacious flat area to stand a little protected from the winds. **locals also use this spot to park up when surfing.**
A little further along the route is another plateau where you could also possibly stand but it’s very exposed.
6,18km into the route there is a low hanging tree which we struggled to pass. If you are a high vehicle, take the RIGHT hand track at 5,93km instead of the left as the route does.
The climb up from Praia do canal is not for the faint hearted! VERY STEEP!
This was a simply gorgeous route! Be respectful of nature and enjoy the stunning views.
