Some off road parts south of the Aousserd road, following old Paris-Dakar tracks in the north of the Aousserd road.

There is nothing on this track. No petrol, no water, no food, may be some nomad tents. There might be a petrol station in Aousserd. But I don"t know and Aouserd could be military area.
We just did the northern part (km ~300 to 900) from the Aousserd tarmac road (coming from Dakhla) to Smara again. We first tried to visit Aousserd. The police stopped just before the town and said the town and the desert around the street are forbidden and sent us back to Dakhla. They followed us for 10 km to be sure that we leave. Then we took this track again. Conclusion: Avoid Aousserd and don't stay to long on the tarmac road close to Aousserd.
You can start the track from the Aousserd road coming from Dakhla. So you need less fuel. This northern part is easier than the southern part (km 0 to ~300) as you always have a gravel road to follow.
