22/09 / 2.017. Total time of the route with stops: 07 hours and 45 minutes.
We started the mythical route of the "Circuit of the Annapurnas".
After having lost three days due to loss of luggage and problems with the cards (we had money, but not enough to end the route, it must be remembered that there are no ATMs during the route).
We decided to go to Chame in Jeep and make up for lost time. So we got up at 05.30 to ask for Besi Sahar for someone who could take us in a Jeep to Chame.
Finally we got a Jeep, which took food to hotels and shops in Chame and could take us for 2,000 Nepali Rupees (€ 16.50) per person. But he did not leave until 08.00.
Finally when we left we were 10 people (3 children) in a 5-seater Jeep. THIS IS NEPAL !! I must also say that we were from the Jeep that fewer people were going, we were lucky, hehe.
We stopped to eat in some booths belonging to the town of "Tangring". (Locality that is two kilometers before arriving at "Ghermu")
Our initial idea was to make this tour by walking in two days:
- The first day of Besi Sahar to Jagat, which is about 28 kilometers (you can go to Bhulbhule by local bus.The journey is 9 kilometers away). (This day before leaving take the permits in Besi Sahar, the offices open at 07:00).
- The second day of Jagat to Chame, which are about 23 kilometers.
The Jeep experience was pretty pretty too. Seeing how the Jeep traveled these roads with great slopes, great cliffs, infinity of rocks in the road, passage of rivers, ...
The driver stopped at all the registration points of the cards, as well as somewhere with beautiful views. We also stop to eat and buy water and snacks.
The spectacular "super" river views.
Say that in addition to the path on the track, which is where we went with the Jeep, for many sections there are secondary roads on the other side of the river. It must be borne in mind that if you want to take these roads when you walk, the kilometers would increase slightly. Besides, when you walk along these roads, it always goes slower than when you walk along paths.
In total we do the 60 kilometers at 07:00 hours (not counting the stops) Little seems to me for the roads we went through !!
THE STAGES OF OUR ROUTE WERE THE FOLLOWING:
Day 1. Besi Sahar - Chame (JEEP)
If it were done walking could be done in two or three days.
There is an option to go by local bus from "Besi Sahar to Bhulbhule" (9 kilometers away). Said bus leaves early in the morning.
Day 2. Chame - Upper Pisang
Day 3. Upper Pisang - Manang
Day 4. Acclimatization. Manang - Ice Lake - Manang
Day 5. Manang - Thorong Pedi
Performing this route in a single day is an error. This route must be completed in two days for the theme of Acclimatization. The ideal would have been "Manang - Yak Kharka" and "Yak Kharka - Thorong Pedi"
Day 6. Thorong Pedi - Yak Khraka
This day we retreated as a precaution to feel several symptoms of "Altitude sickness." When descending the 500 meters that exists between a population and another one, the symptoms disappeared and the following day we continued the march with normality.
Day 7. Yak Kharka - Thorong Pedi
Day 8. Thorong I asked - Thorong La - Muktinath
Day 9. Muktinath - Jomsom
Day 10. Jomsom - Tatopani (MTB)
If it were done walking this stretch would be done in two days. "Jomsom - Kalopani" and "Kalopani - Tatopani"
Day 11. Tatopani - Gorepani
Day 12. Gorepani - Poon Hill - Bhirentani
