Itinerary description
Today we left Atyrau for the 600km drive to Aktobe. We filled up with diesel for around 40p per litre, and headed out of town only to come to another bl**dy closed bridge. Again a bit of struggle with a map found another way out of town and off we went. We had decided to make the trip over 2 days so 300km was the target. The first 100km to Dossor were puuurrfect, but then went drastically downhill, with another 200km of dreadful or no road. We reached the 300km mark at 7pm, set up camp, made tea with sparkling water....we'd bought the wrong kind. Had evening cocktails of whiskey,water and lime, cooked tea and watched the sun go down.
