Itinerary description
Decided to break the back of the leg to Ulaan Baatar by getting to Bayankhongor in one day. Met up with The Swallow Clan as they were having lunch, and three Mongol Rally cars. Arrived in Bayankhongor exhausted after our two hard days and a hard night in Altai. To back track we had arrived in Altai at the Altai Hotel, and whilst checking the rooms discovered we had a puncture. Took the wheel off and rolled it to a garage for repair by morning. We then booked into what appeared to be a hotel/karaoke bar/brothel. After being told there were not enough rooms, some very attractive young ladies departed and we were found rooms, with generous supplies of condoms. The beds were made up with fresh linen and were really rather comfortable. We then went for something to eat to discover the dining room was also a vip karaoke lounge. Much beer, vodka and raucous singing then followed.
