Itinerary description
The Ad-Dahna desert extends north to south, linking the two greatest deserts of the Nafud-al-Kabir to the Rub al-Khali (the Empty Quarter). Ad-Dahna desert which is 200 kilometers north of Riyadh hosts massive star-shaped dunes that can peak at 100km
Once you get off the tarmac you can drive along the dunes until you get to start dunes, it is a pretty easy drive. However, once you get to the star dunes area you will definitely need a 4x4 with high clearance and sand driving experience.
There are plenty of camping spots along the way and on the dunes, just make sure you drive on previously used tracks.
