Nice path on easy roads. Green landscapes of woods and pastures between the Carso and the Vipacco Valley. You get to San Daniele rewarded by the sight of the ancient village and the castle that dominates the valley. Along the way you meet the birthplace of Matija Vertovec, a priest of the 800 son of the Vipacco wine valley. He studied in Gorizia, Graz and Ljubljana but traveled throughout Europe. Vertovec was a moral and religious educator but also a scholar and writer, among other things, of treatises on viticulture and vinification.
