A beautiful walk from Vrtovin, a village located along the Vipacco Valley in the Municipality of Aidussina (Ajdovščina), up to the church of St. Paul (Sv. Pavel) situated on a plateau that rests south on a rocky slope and already home of ancient settlements. The path is very well maintained and along it, above a spring, is the Water Tower (Rimski vodni stolp), a remnant of Roman domination over these lands. From Sv. Pavel you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Vipava Valley (Vipavska dolina), surmounted to the north by the Kucelj and Čaven mountains.
The faithful and local communities have scattered many small nativity scenes on the lawns and rocks around the church, creating original corners and graceful installations during the Christmas period

Sono appassionato di MountainBike. Credi si possa salire alla chiesa anche in bici ? ... a parte le pendenze, il sentiero è pedalabile oppure ci sono passaggi con tanti "scalini" ?
