Dosso Fáiti, (in Slovenian Fajtji hrib) or Dosso dei Faggi, is a 434 m high hill in the Slovenian Karst. It is located in the municipality of Merna-Castagnevizza and from its summit to the north you can see the valley of the Vipacco river and the whole plain of Gorizia. Its summit was contested several times during the First World War by Italian troops, and was then conquered during the Ninth Battle of the Isonzo, precisely on November 3, 1916 by the Tuscan Brigade. The name derives from the homonymous group of houses at its foot towards the south-west, now disappeared and covered by vegetation. (from Wikipedia)
