combined route.
The first circular part is a normal trekking outside the glacier to see its front, as well as the river that forms the melting.
The second part already begins in the parking lot of the Toe of the Athabasca Glacier, where we were lucky to coincide in time and place to sign up at the last minute for an excursion above the glacier with ROCKABOO Mountain Adventures. They provided us with all the necessary equipment (clothes, harnesses for rappelling in the ice crevasse, camprones, helmet,... they were 100% equipped).
**** ATTENTION ****
Do not do this part of the route without a guide who knows the way and where the cracks are that dangerously descend to the underground rivers that run under the glacier at this time of year (August).
