Itinerary description

The Tuzgle Volcano is a beautiful and easy stratovolcano located in the province of Jujuy in Argentina, but with access from San Antonio de los Cobres, which is in Salta.
This volcano is undoubtedly one of the most recommendable for you to start your acclimatisation when you go on an expedition in the region.
It is recommended to spend at least two nights in San Antonio de los Cobres and then camp in the place marked as camp in this tracklog, a sheltered place but without water.
The tracklog contained here includes the way from the road. Use caution and care when choosing where to stop your car. The road is very high up in the mountain, but in the final stretch it is precarious and there is risk of getting stuck and overturn of the vehicle. Be prudent and stop early, as soon as you notice the danger.
It is possible to get very high but don't risk it to save 15 minutes walking.
Access to the summit is simple. Just follow a well-defined path, as Tuzgle is a very popular mountain.
