Itinerary description
The Pili Volcano is a mountain that has become popular as a mountain of over 6,000 metres accessible from San Pedro de Atacama.
It is not a difficult mountain and some agencies have made the summit from the city in a single day. Others prefer to approach the day before, camp beside the car and leave for the summit at dawn. If this is your option, don't forget to bring water.
There is also the possibility of camping higher up, next to a place where there is a lake that is partially frozen.
This Tracklog has an up and down path from the Paso de Jama road.
The 4x4 path is quite wide, however be careful with the rocks and places to bog the car.
Be acclimated before attempting the ascent.

Hi, thanks for sharing this trail. Did you summit in just one day or did you camp? Would you mind sharing more details of how long took for you to go up and down? Are there any glaciers where you need to use crampons? Regards.
Hello.. Any agency to climb mountains in Atacama please?
Hello Valter. We camped on the place marked in the tracklog. Then on second day we did both summits.
