A brief note to leave you the route not described in maps, nor signposted to Sefton Vivac. Without a doubt one of the most spectacular mountaineering places in the New Zealand Alps.
The route begins halfway to the viewpoint of Mount Cook. The climb requires a section of river crossing at the beginning without any signs. Climb up the left bank following the stone landmarks that begin to appear in the upper part of the river. As we were told by the mountaineers who told us about the route "As you go up, you think that now is when it's going to get complicated ... but it never gets complicated."
No technical material is necessary.
Enjoy this refuge-board for 2-3 people between two impressive glaciers and do not forget to answer over the radio the calls made every day from the Base Camp to warn you that you will spend the night there.
