Itinerary description
Pretty long route, but not difficult. However crampoons necessary this time of year. Great view over the Hunavatnssysla area, and towards the highland of Iceland as well (Arnarvatnsheiði) View from Holtavörðuheiði and to Skagi. On the way I spotted two tracks after foxes but the valley where the route lies takes it name from those and is called in Icelandic Melrakkadalur.
