Itinerary description
These twin peaks are composed of vertically aligned columnar basalt and constitute the last remnants of highly eroded volcanic craters. The easiest ascent is from the west, up the cleft between the two peaks and then on to the top of the northernmost (and taller) one. This was the route we used for our descent - we ascended from the eastern side which is also quite easy but a little out of our way.
Actually, making a circuit of the two peaks is worthwhile, the basalt columns are particularly impressive on the eastern side.
