Itinerary description
Started from C5 (Barafu) at midnight to reach Stella Point by dawn and then an easy hike to Uhuru peak at 5896m. Amazing view of Africa to the south and the crater to the north. Bucket list for every mountaineer. Blessed and sad to have seen the last glaciers of Africa. I wouldn’t give them many years more. Had some HAS before the summit so no waypoints and few photos. Tried the trail from Uhuru down to the crater but is closed as of 2022. Officials didn’t know.
