Itinerary description
A half day hike starting from Lake Ogwen, heading up to the top of Tryfan via the north face.
At first the trail is well set out, but then disappears into the many dormant rocks that lie on the assent and it is at this point where some scrambling might suffice. We went up on a cold crisp January morning with the sun low in the sky and a strong easterly breeze, which made the scramble evermore challenging .
When at the top before managing you way through some icy crevices, you will find the Adam and Eve rocks, where legend has it that if you jump from one to the other then you will have the freedom of Tryfan.
The walk should take no more than 4 hours as we were in icy conditions so slow and steady was a must.
