Itinerary description
Tröllakirkja ("Trolls' Church") is the name of a peak in the neighbourhood of Lake Hítarvatn - a fantastically interesting area moulded by both glaciers and post-glacial volcanic eruptions. Because there was still snow on the Smjörhnjúkar peaks and we didn't have the appropriate gear, we cheated a bit and went up the valley - the "proper" route is along the crest of the peaks.
