Itinerary description

[English] Beautiful route through the Triglav Natural Park in Slovenia, crowning its highest point, the 2,864m Triglav, which is also the highest in Slovenia. It is a national symbol, even in the shield of the country (in the current and previous of the Socialist Republic that began in 1945).

The route passes through the summit of the Viševnik of 2,050m, but if what you want is mainly to go to Triglav, better to save this summit.

There is a large free car park from Rudno Polje. The first section of the route is quite right, you reach the Viševnik, it descends slightly to a hill, and then goes through a path that is flat but passes through a fairly right wall. Then you reach the usual path to go to Triglav.

Now it is quite flat until the first refuge Vodnikov dom na Velem polju, quite large, where you can eat hot and there is a source (last point where there is water).

Now a fairly steep and zigzag stretch is coming again until the second refuge Dom Planika pod Triglavom, also great but without source.

From here comes the most straight-forward section, as it goes up to a ridge, and it goes on until the summit. It's a pretty spectacular stretch and it's got to climb quite a bit. In almost all the section there are cables and hooks. The summit has a large and flat space.

The return is made along the same path except the section to climb the Viševnik.

There is no need for rope, hardware, helmet, etc., but it is advisable in case you want to go safely or go with people with less experience.

The path is clear at all times, and is well signposted.

There are people who make the route with two days. Surely it is better to enjoy the magnificent surroundings.
