Itinerary description
While the traditional ascent is along the ridgeline, our guide felt that in view of the snow still lying on the mountain and lack of equipment it would be safer to hook around the mountain and approach it up the valley to the north. The group was quite large and I am sure he made a good call - but I'll have to go back and do this one the "proper" way.
The dogleg on the approach was caused by faulty navigation - there's a deep gully there and you have to stay further to the west in order to get across it.
