Magnificent route made with the Club Senderista de Totana in its 2012 summer trip to Poland.
We start from the parking area, here there is a barrier that prevents the passage to vehicles to the park, (to pass you have to pay 4 szlotys, that is 1 euro). Since that Lake Morskie oko there are 6.5 km that are made mostly by road and some stretch of cobblestone path (like all there). One option if you do not want to do these kilometers of road is to get on a cart pulled by horses that go up and down constantly full of tourists, (It costs the trip about 30 Szlotys, that is about 7.5 euros).
The first interesting point of the day is Lake Morskie Oko, a beautiful and beautiful lake nestled in the Tatras mountains, with the Rysy as a lookout. A tourist zone where there are, there are bars and some post that another ambulant where to quench the thirst and regain strength.
We go down to the lake and take the cobbled path that skirts the left, until we reach the other end where we turn left and go up to a second lake, Czarny staw lake, this climb is a small appetizer of the Rysy climb.
Until this second lake many people arrive to enjoy their views, from here, there are fewer people who go looking for the top of the Rysy.
We skirt the lake following the path, until we reach the opposite side where the ascent begins.
The beginning of the climb is a path with rocks placed as steps that make your legs ready for what comes next. After this hard climb that starts from the second lake, there is a horizontal displacement area of about 50 meters in which the slope is smoothed to the horizontal.
This break, situated at an altitude of 2,000 meters, is the anteroom of the area of chains that begin to appear and that will take you to the top, surpassing the last 500 meters of altitude difference.
These are areas of very steep chains, but it must be said that there is no exposed passage that complicates the ascent.
We were lucky and the day was sunny, BUT this area of chains with wet rock, if that is quite dangerous, since there are areas of rock very washed.
The top of the Polish Rysy (2,499.6 m) is an area with stunning views of the Tatras, which we could enjoy thanks to the wonderful clear and sunny day that made us.
The descent by the same place, with stop in the bars of the Morskie Oko to celebrate the summit and quench the accumulated thirst and then go down to the area where are the horse wagons, which in this occasion if we use to go down to the general parking for take the bus that would take us to Zakopane.
Note: In the profile of the route, approximately at km 12 there is an area of apparent descent of about 200 m, it is a GPS positioning error.

Estimado Ramón, lo primero agradecerte tu aportación, este verano voy a ir al tatras (eslovaquia), me gustaría preguntarte si existe algún mapa topográfico para meterlo en mi GPS y poder seguir tu ruta. ¿hay mapas de mapsource? ¿donde podría adquirirlo? Muchas gracias, un saludo .
Hola Magarbid. Nosotros subimos al Rysy por el lado polaco, pasando por el lago Morskie Oko.

Buenas ramón, gracias por tu rapidísima respuesta, la verdad que ya lo he podido descargar e instalar satisfactoriamente. Voy a descargarme tu ruta a ver si puedo realizarla.

Yo si volviera a ir, sin duda que tomaría los carruajes de caballos para subir, ya que toda la subida hasta el lago es por carretera y se pierde tiempo y energía que luego se hecha en falta para subir al Rysy, merece la pena tener tiempo para disfrutar el lago y la cima, son espectaculares.
No se si habéis pensado hacer la ruta de los cinco lagos, dicen que es maravillosa, nosotros teníamos pensado ir y no pudimos.
Otro consejo, si vais a subir por el teleférico de Kuznice hasta Kasprowy Wierch, (desde ahí se puede hacer alguna cima interesante) merece mucho la pena madrugar y estar cuando lo abran.
Nosotros llegamos tarde y estuvimos mas de cuatro horas de cola!!!!!

voy a ir este verano al Rysy, subiendo por la zona Eslovaca y bajando por la Polaca. Me gustaría preguntarte como consideras la dificultat de la bajada por la parte Polaca. Había leído también que se bajaba por un camino diferente al de subida, puede ser? es este más fácil?

Hola Nuria. Lo qué yo vi es qué se baja por el mismlko sitio, todo el mundo bajaba por el mismo sitio. Si hay otra bajada distinta lo desconozco.
La bajada por el lado polaco no tiene mayor complicación, hay un montón de cadenas de las qué te puedes ayudar, nosotros prácticamente ni las utilizamos al bajar.
El peligro viene si la roca está mojada, ya qué es una roca muy lavada y es fácil resbalar, y un resbalón en ciertos sitios es peligroso.

Quería saber si tienes idea de cómo son las condiciones para subir al Rysy en abril o mayo, ya que me gustaría hacerlo con buen tiempo y esperando que el paisaje no este muy nevado para poder apreciar mejor el paisaje.

Hola Ramón, tengo pensado hacer esta ruta en agosto, y me gustaría que me aclararas el tema de los caballos. ¿Puedes usarlos tanto al subir como al bajar? Y en ese caso, ¿la ruta a pie se quedaría en 8km?

Hola alvaronoviercas. Tengo un amigo que estuvo hace un mes por allí y según me cuenta, los carros de caballos los puedes contratar tanto de subida o bajada solo, como de subida y bajada.
La ruta si subes y bajas en carromato se queda en 14 km aprox, ya que desde que te deja el carromato hasta el Morskie Oko hay 1,5 km aprox.
