Maer Mountain Scenic Area is 15km from Taoxian International Airport and 30km (20 minutes’ drive) from downtown Shenyang.
Maer Mountain is the extension of Qianshan Mountain Range. Double peaks stand side by side on the summit which look like horse’s ears. And so the mountain was named Maer Mountain (Maer means horse’s ears). Its main peak is the highest peak in southern Shenyang, with an altitude of 330.8 meters; its second highest peak has an altitude of 300 meters. Maer Mountain Scenic Area is covered with flourishing pines and cypresses.
