A 4.478 m, il Cervino è il classico più difficile delle Alpi. La salita e la discesa sono fatte esclusivamente su roccia e ghiaccio, e richiede una straordinaria forma fisica ed esperienza nell'arrampicata su roccia con e senza ramponi. Il percorso normale è via Hörnligrat ed è adatto solo a alpinisti esperti che si accompagnano a una guida alpina.

At 4,478 m, the Matterhorn is the most difficult classic in the Alps. The climb and descent is done exclusively over rocks and ice, and it requires outstanding fitness and experience in rock climbing with and without crampons. The normal route is via the Hörnligrat and is only suitable for well-versed mountaineers accompanied by a mountain guide.

À 4 478 m, le Cervin est le classique le plus difficile des Alpes. La montée et la descente se font exclusivement sur des rochers et de la glace, et il faut une forme physique et une expérience exceptionnelles en escalade avec et sans crampons. La route normale passe par le Hörnligrat et ne convient qu'aux alpinistes chevronnés accompagnés d'un guide de haute montagne.

Mit 4.478 m ist das Matterhorn der schwierigste Klassiker der Alpen. Der Auf- und Abstieg erfolgt ausschließlich über Felsen und Eis und erfordert hervorragende Kondition und Erfahrung im Klettern mit und ohne Steigeisen. Die Normalroute verläuft über den Hörnligrat und ist nur für versierte Bergsteiger in Begleitung eines Bergführers geeignet.
