TOUR DESCRIPTION

Starting point is the "central hidroeléctrica" at 3350 m (hydroelectric power station). Park the vehicle next to the metal gate and follow the road a few meters uphill until a sharp turn to the right. Go past the closed gate and follow the wide path for about 2 km until you reach an abandoned house. There the path turns right and winds its way up the hill through pastureland with cattle and horses. Several barbed wire fences with gates have to be crossed (please close them again). Further up in a small forest at 3700 m there is a small camping place before you climb up a small ledge. The path then continues for about 1 km below the ridge and to the left of the fence to the last gate at 3900 m. There, the path either turns to the left straight to the central peak or leads straight ahead steeply upwards up to the crater rim at 4000 m. On the ridge it goes down a little and then up again to the north peak of Pasochoa (4065 m). From here we can already see the steep path to the central peak, but first it goes steeply down into the hollow (attention: danger of slipping!) and then up again on the other side. The ascent leads to the right past a rock outcrop - the passage is very exposed (danger of falling) - and further through a polylepis forest up to the peak. It is less adventurous to walk around the peak on the left side and climb from the other side. From the central peak (4185 m) the path leads down into the saddle again and about 800 meters further along the crater rim. After another scramble over rocks (I. degree) and through a small forest we reach the south peak (4200 m), the highest peak of Pasochoa. A few meters after the last peak a steep path leads left into the hollow. From here several paths of about 2 km (take the top path) run through the paramo back to the ridge and down again to the hydroelectric power station.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TOUR

El punto de partida es la central hidroeléctrica a 3350 m. Aparque el coche junto a la puerta metálica y siga la carretera unos metros cuesta arriba hasta una curva cerrada a la derecha. Pasa por la puerta metálica cerrada y sigue el camino ancho por unos 2 km hasta llegar a una casa abandonada. Allí el camino gira a la derecha y sube la colina a través de los pastos con el ganado y los caballos. Hay que cruzar varias vallas de alambre de púas con puertas (por favor, ciérrales de nuevo). Más arriba en un pequeño bosque a 3700 m hay un pequeño lugar para acampar antes de subir a un pequeño saliente. El camino continúa luego por cerca de 1 km debajo de la cresta y a la izquierda de la valla hasta la última puerta a 3900 m. Allí, el camino o bien gira a la izquierda directamente al pico central o bien conduce directamente hacia arriba en forma empinada hasta el borde del cráter a 4000 m. En el borde baja un poco y luego vuelve a subir al pico norte del Pasochoa (4065 m). Desde aquí ya podemos ver el empinado camino hacia el pico central, pero primero desciende abruptamente hacia el hueco (atención: peligro de resbalar!) y luego vuelve a subir por el otro lado. El ascenso lleva a la derecha pasando por un afloramiento rocoso - el pasaje está muy expuesto (peligro de caída) - y más adelante a través de un bosque de poliélepsis hasta la cumbre. Es menos aventurado caminar alrededor de la cumbre por el lado izquierdo y subir por el otro lado. Desde el pico central (4185 m) el camino lleva de nuevo a la collada y unos 800 metros más allá a lo largo del borde del cráter. Después de otro revoltijo sobre las rocas (I. grado) y a través de un pequeño bosque llegamos al pico sur (4200 m), el pico más alta del Pasochoa. Unos pocos metros después de la última cumbre un camino empinado lleva a la izquierda en la depresión. Desde aquí, varios senderos de unos 2 km (tomar el camino superior) conducen a través del páramo de vuelta a la cresta y de vuelta a la central hidroeléctrica.

TOURENBESCHREIBUNG

Ausgangspunkt ist die "central hidroeléctrica" auf 3350 m (Wasserkraftwerk). Das Fahrzeug neben dem Metalltor abstellen und die Straße ein paar Meter bergaufwärts folgen bis zu einer scharfen Abzweigung nach rechts. An dem verschlossenen Gittertor vorbeigehen und den breiten Weg etwa 2 km bis zu einem verlassenen Haus folgen. Dort biegt der Weg rechts ab und windet sich durch Weidegebiet mit Rindern und Pferden den Berg hinauf. Es müssen dabei mehrere Stacheldrahtzäune mit Gattern durchquert werden (auch diese bitte wieder schließen). Weiter oben in einem Wäldchen auf 3700 m befindet sich eine kleine Campingstelle, bevor man einen kleinen Absatz hinaufsteigt. Der Pfad verläuft anschließend etwa 1 km weiter unterhalb des Bergkamms und links des Zauns bis zum letzten Gattertor auf 3900 m. Dort biegt der Pfad entweder nach links direkt zum Zentralgipfel ab oder führt geradeaus steil nach oben bis auf den Kraterrand auf 4000 m. Auf dem Grat geht es ein wenig hinab und dann wieder hinauf zum Nordgipfel des Pasochoa (4065 m). Von hier aus erkennen wir schon den steilen Weiterweg auf den Zentralgipfel. Aber zuerst geht es steil hinab in die Mulde (Achtung: Rutschgefahr!) und dann wieder auf der anderen Seite hinauf. Der Aufstieg führt rechts vorbei an einer Felsnase - die Passage ist sehr exponiert (Absturzgefahr) - und weiter durch einen Polylepis-Wald den Gipfel hinauf. Weniger abenteuerlich ist es den Gipfel linksseitig zu umlaufen und von der anderen Seite aufzusteigen. Vom Zentralgipfel (4185 m) führt der Pfad wieder hinab in den Sattel und etwa 800 Meter weiter entlang am Kraterrand. Nach einer weiteren Kraxelei über Felsen (I. Grad) und durch ein Wäldchen erreichen wir den Südgipfel (4200 m), den höchsten Gipfel des Pasochoa. Wenige Meter nach dem letzten Gipfel führt ein steiler Pfad links in die Senke. Von hier aus führen mehrere Pfade von etwa 2 km (oberen Pfad nehmen) durch das Paramo zurück auf den Kamm und wieder hinunter zum Wasserkraftwerk.
