Itinerary description
Towering over the farm of Hvesta (where my cousin Jón is the first "hydroelectric farmer" in Iceland :-) Nónhorn affords a spectacular view. Towards the north the highest peak in the Westfjords, Kaldbakur, dominates the view - to the south Snæfellsjökull peeks above the intervening mountain chains. An easy hike - well worth the effort. Since you will be parking your car parctiacally at his front door you should probably get authorization from Jón - which I am sure he'll give you.

We only used this trail as orientation for the way from the summit of Nonhorn down to Hvesturdalur. We started at the mountain road and crossed the plane until we reached the edge of Nonhorn.
