Itinerary description

Nevado Illampu is the most difficult mountain in Bolivia. It can be reached from the town of Sorata, taking a path that winds through the mountains to the village of Ancoma, on the Yungas side of the Cordillera Real.
From Ancoma, the trail that leads to the east face of the mountain, one of the most accessible, begins.
This path requires climbing a wall of about 300 meters of unevenness that is quite technical. I have ice screws, technical piolets, double rope and snow stakes.
