Itinerary description

Tres Cruces Sur is the fifth highest mountain of the Andes. It is a huge volcano where the biggest difficulty is the way from the summit to the neck of 6443.
It is possible to get there by 4WD car but be careful with the large and sharp rocks. Usually on the first day we approach the 4x4 to the lagoon that is high camp for the Tres Cruces Central and on the second day we approach the camp at 6100 meters of altitude, to make a shorter summit attack, since this stretch is quite difficult.
If you are going to climb Tres Cruces Sur, be sure to climb the Central as well.
This mountain is treacherous and the two times I have been there there have been deaths and disappearances. In 2013 there was the disappearance of an Argentinean climber and in 2015 an Indian died of hypothermia in a storm.
