Itinerary description
Located on either side of the fjord Dýrafjörður are two mountains named Sandafell and Mýrafell which, with a bit of imagination, seem to resemble upside-down boats. Growing up in Þingeyri Sandafell was my playground in childhood but until 2009 I had never climbed Mýrafell across the fjord.
The view from the summit is far nicer than the 312 metre elevation would imply, it is especially nice to look across the fjord towards Þingeyri.

Great trek really enjoyed it.
I recconed in parking in the waterfall parking lot.
Another thing that I used and helped me is that every few hundred meters there was a stone pyramid that helps guide you on the correct routh. Especially useful on the way up.
Also great view!
Btw, weather was very hot. Recommend to check before and use an hat 🤠
