Itinerary description
Summit to Vakhushti Mount in the Shkhara range. Good Alpine climbing (russian 2B, PD+\AD-). On the way up was a mistake in navigation & we left some equipment. Then collected it on the way down.
Description:
1. From the camp go on the glacier almost until the end and start to climb right (accordingly to track)
2. When you will see the icefall from right - don't go there, but go left (choose the safety way via crevasses) until you connect our track again and then follow the track.
Note: we go right to the icefall and tried to climb - but this way required at least 150m elevation climb on relatively steep (starts with 70deg, 65deg average) AI, it's required a lot of time if you are not so fast on this terrain. So we downclimbed and traversed left, you don't need this traverse if you go traditional way.
3. Follow our track and climb to relatively flat area (you will see another ice wall from left and the summit above you) - from here you will climb 50 degrees snowy-icy slope, as 200 m elevation gain
4. After you climb on on ridge following to the summit there is easy but not pleasant scrambling on very erased rocks (about 50m elevation gain more)
